| ANTHROPOLOGY & ROCK ART The World Heritage Site of uKhahlamba, more commonly known to some as the Drakensberg, is the repository of the greatest and oldest collection of rock art anywhere on Earth. The entire region is steeped in the spirituality of the San people who populated this area for thousands of years and who left a vast repertoire of rock painting. They documented their lives, the spirit and natural world and how the latter two were seamlessly joined and accessed by the shamans of uKhahlamba. Frans Prins has been studying and recording the history and art of the San for a number of years and is a consultant to the World Heritage Site and a number of other scientific bodies, and as such is the ideal person to lead our tours.
